Brackets
Faulds’ ongoing series of brackets extends her exploration of landscape into the language of support and structure. Cast and fabricated from precious and delicate materials, these functional forms are rendered fragile, ornamental and improbable. By remaking the humble bracket — an object designed to carry weight and remain unnoticed — in gold and silver, she disrupts expectations of strength, utility and value. These works propose quiet metaphors for care, balance and vulnerability, reflecting the delicate structures that underlie both built and natural environments.
